OUR TEAM
I am passionate about helping clients navigate their family law issues in the most positive way possible.
I consider my strength to be in building positive relationships with clients based on mutual trust and understanding, allowing me to work with them to achieve their aims for the future. I am calm, approachable and warm, which helps establish a good relationship with clients, colleagues, and other agents. I am passionate about delivering a better divorce for clients and making sure that the process can be as smooth and stress free as possible, so that the whole family can move on to their respective next chapters. I understand how important family is, and will continue to be beyond separation.
I regularly advise on divorce and financial provision, cohabitation, child residence and contact, child abduction, child relocation, maintenance as well as measures for those in the early stages of their relationships such as pre-nuptial agreements or cohabitation agreements. I appear regularly in the Sheriff Court and regularly instruct Counsel in the Court of Session and can provide advice and representation when court is the best course of action.
I have significant experience in international and cross border cases both in relation to children’s care and relocation or child abduction, and in relation to divorce. I have built relationships with solicitors in other jurisdictions which help to smooth the process.
I have practised exclusively in the area of family law since 2014, prior to which I undertook a wide variety of litigation after qualifying in 2006. I am experienced in all areas of family law and I have achieved two accreditations from the Law Society of Scotland; in Family Law and in Family Mediation.
I am trained as a collaborative lawyer and I am a member of CALM, the Family Law Association and Consensus.
I volunteer as a solicitor for the Scottish Child Law Centre and I often contribute to articles for various publications such as Greens Family Law Bulletin, Scots Law Times, the Scottish Legal News and the Scotsman.
"I really appreciated how I was listened to and understood in my separation/divorce by your solicitors. It was very important to me that the focus was not on financial settlements, what I wanted was to ensure the best arrangements for my daughter and that was achieved through the minute of agreement and divorce proceedings. I felt understood that the relationship as a co-parent was more important than point scoring or "winning" in the court arena. Your team have helped me secure the best arrangements for my daughter and keeping this out of the court arena, which I am so grateful for. I am also thankful for the emotional support and understanding from your solicitors, I have felt supported from the first first phone call, up to the last emails confirming the divorce had been agreed by the Sherriff Court. Thank you again, I hope that I won't have the need to do any of this again, but if I did, then I would definitely want the same team supporting me. Thank you!"
"Linda was fantastic. Very proactive and ensured things happened when they were meant to."
‘I work mostly with Amanda Masson, who impressed this year by tenacious work in overcoming obstacles in an international case. Despite matters looking almost insuperable, she persisted and secured a good result for her client. Karen Gibbons and Alexis Harper are excellent partners and Linda Walker is worth watching.’
