OUR TEAM
Matthew is a Trainee Solicitor in our Rural Team. He is involved in multiple transactions relating to forestry, agriculture and estates.
His time in higher education has seen him undertake a History degree at the University of East Anglia, before completing his Graduate LLB and Diploma at the University of Edinburgh.
Matthew is from a rural environment, originally coming from Yorkshire. His background helps him to understand the specific pressures and challenges that rural life generates. He takes a keen interest in the rural economy and is particularly focused on the forestry and agricultural sectors. During his time with the team, he has undertaken specific research into Voluntary Carbon Markets, with an emphasis on what should be done to aid their growth.
Having previously had experience in the renewable energy industry, Matthew has a firm grasp of the importance of this sector and how it currently and will continue to play such a significant role in the rural economy in the wider drive to Net Zero.
