OUR TEAM
Hannah is a key member of our rural team, acting for a range of rural property owners in large scale acquisitions of estates, disposals, servitudes, leasing, and other ancillary estate management. She also specialises in the Voluntary Registration of estates, complex title diligence and ancillary rectification to correct errors in titles of estates, and prepares prescriptive applications for submission with Registers of Scotland.
As the main contact for Scottish Forestry, Hannah has provided advice in relation to Standard Security documentation for Forestry Grant Scheme (FGS) applications to facilitate woodland creation schemes that are deemed ‘high risk’. Additionally, she has advised on FGS funding applications totalling more than 4,000 hectares of planting ground, with an approximate total grant funding value of £15million.
Hannah also works closely with our wider property team, providing guidance and undertaking title diligence exercises, rectifications and Voluntary Registrations in order to assist with various renewable energy and commercial projects.
Coming from a farming background in Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway, Hannah has an intricate understanding of the challenges facing rural communities and uses this experience to deliver tailored advice and effective solutions for clients. She also manages Harper Macleod’s successful ongoing sponsorship of the annual Stranraer agricultural show, as part of her leading on increasing our brand and presence within the South West of Scotland.
Hannah is interested in supporting rural communities across Scotland and is a member of both Women in Agriculture Scotland (WiAS) and the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS).
In the Legal 500 directory, Hannah is ranked as a “Recommended Lawyer” in Agriculture & Estates. Her impressive career trajectory also saw her being promoted to Associate in 2024.
