Lesley has developed wide-ranging expertise in the full spectrum of employment work, advising clients in diverse sectors in relation to employment tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal litigation as well as non-contentious HR issues from restructurings and redundancies to day to day issues such as disciplinary, grievance and absence management. Lesley is also highly experienced in advising on the staff related aspects of acquisitions, mergers and outsourcings.
She has acted in several high profile employment cases for different clients, often involving multiple claimants numbering in the hundreds, if not thousands. These have included representing a Central Government Agency in connection with multiple employment status claims, an NDPB in multiple claims under the equal pay legislation; and a local authority off shoot in relation to mass litigation brought under the TUPE Regulations.
Lesley was awarded an LLM with distinction in the Law of Employment Relations by the University of Leicester and is also is a Law Society of Scotland Accredited Specialist in Employment Law.
She is a member of the team that won the prestigious "Employment Team of the Year" award at both the Scottish Legal Awards and the Law Awards of Scotland 2012.
