Matthew Smith

Matthew is part of our private client team based in Edinburgh, and has a particular focus in estate planning matters. He works closely with individuals and families to ensure their affairs are well protected and organised in a tax efficient manner. This includes inheritance tax planning and advice on the effective use of wills, powers of attorney, and trusts. Matthew also administers a wide range of estates, and assists with the day to day running of various trusts, including charitable trusts.

Matthew studied at the University of Edinburgh where he obtained an honours degree in Sport and Recreation Management, prior to undertaking the accelerated LLB and the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice.

Matthew is also a Notary Public.
