OUR TEAM
Kate advises businesses, charities, unincorporated associations and individuals on a wide range of employment law matters including unfair dismissal, TUPE, breach of contract, settlement agreements and discrimination. Kate also has experience of advising public sector employers.
She advises employers on all aspects of employment law and helps them to navigate potentially difficult areas such as conducting disciplinary proceedings, performance management and carrying out redundancy exercises. She also regularly assists with the employment elements of corporate transactions. Preparing and reviewing employment documentation including employee handbooks and employment contracts is another key part of Kate’s practice. Her focus is on providing clear, practical & commercial advice which helps minimise the amount of management time an employer has to spend dealing with such issues. She understands that different approaches can be required for different businesses and she takes the time to get to know the particular challenges facing each employer that she advises.
Kate understands that experiencing problems at work can be very stressful for individuals and in her role she seeks to ease that stress wherever possible by providing clear and comprehensive advice which avoids legal jargon. She advises individuals on a diverse range of employment law issues including unfair dismissal, grievances, redundancy and she is experienced in negotiating settlements for departing employees.
In addition to advising both employers and employees she regularly represents clients in the Employment Tribunal and has experience of judicial mediation from both the employee and employer perspective.
