Harper Macleod has advised Andrew Goodwin, founder and chief executive of national IFA firm Truly Independent, on the significant investment into the business by the Marlborough Group.
Truly Independent, which boasts a roster of 75 financial advisers and has assets under management of £1.5bn, will look to utilise the investment to support its ambitious growth strategy.
The Marlborough Group has been managing investments for more than 30 years and currently looks after the investments of more than 200,000 private, corporate and institutional clients, with more than £11bn of assets under management.
Corporate partner Craig Ramsay led the Harper Macleod team advising Andrew Goodwin.
Andrew Goodwin said: “This investment will provide valuable growth capital as we continue to bring on board new advisers who are keen to join one of the UK’s fastest-growing and most ambitious independent financial advice firms. Equally important though is that we will benefit from the huge breadth and depth of experience within the Marlborough Group.
The advice from Craig and the rest of the team at Harper Macleod was invaluable to me throughout the process. They were extremely responsive and pro-active in helping to progress matters to a conclusion. I look forward to working with Craig and the team again soon.”
