Harper Macleod advises Dron & Dickson Group Limited on acquisition of Cable Solutions (Worldwide) Limited

Leading independent law firm Harper Macleod has advised Stirling-based Dron & Dickson Group Limited, a supplier of electrical equipment to hazardous working environments, on its acquisition of Cable Solutions (Worldwide) Limited.
Dron & Dickson has acquired Inverurie company Cable Solutions (Worldwide), as it continues its UK-wide expansion, which now extends to six locations around the country.
The Stirling-based company, founded in 1927, specialises in the supply, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment for harsh and hazardous working areas.
It is particularly experienced in installing and maintaining electrical equipment to the upstream and downstream oil & gas and renewable energy sectors, as well as distilleries and bonded warehouses. Alongside its Stirling presence, it is also operates bases in Hull, Aberdeen, Lowestoft and Runcorn.
It employs around 190 people based both onshore and offshore.
The acquisition of Cable Solutions (Worldwide) combines the two companies’ complementary expertise, products and services.
Cable Solutions (Worldwide), which employs 11 people and was founded in 2003, will continue to operate under its existing name from its Inverurie base. It specialises in the design, manufacture, supply and testing of cables and connections to a wide range of industries, particularly oil & gas, subsea, shipbuilding and renewable energy.

The Harper Macleod team advising Dron & Dickson in the acquisition was led by corporate partner Craig McKerracher, alongside Fiona Strang (Associate) and Linards Luks (Trainee Solicitor). Employment and property law advice was led by Ewan Stafford (Senior Associate) and Caroline Summers (partner) respectively.
