Harper Macleod advised MacIain Ltd. and the Johnson / MacIain Family, the shareholder group behind Uist Asco Limited, on the sale of 100% of the entire issued share capital of Uist Asco Ltd to Acadian Seaplants Limited. Uist Asco Ltd was, prior to its acquisition, a family-owned and operated business focused on the harvesting and development of seaweed on North Uist.
Acadian Seaplants Limited is a Canadian company and is similarly focused on the harvesting and development of marine plant derived products. It harvests products in over 80 countries and has six production facilities in Nova Scotia, Ireland and now Scotland.
