Christmas this year feels a little different so here are our top 5 ways to feel festive and spread some Christmas cheer.
1. The season of goodwill
There's lots of ways to give back and help others during these times. Check in on your friends, drop off some supplies for elderly relatives and neighbours and make sure their path is gritted in case of bad weather. Add some extra items or a toy to your shopping and donate to a local food bank.
2. Watch Christmas movies
One of our favourite ways to spend our nights in is to get all the family together and settle down with lots of pillows, cosy blankets, dim the lights, overload on snacks and watch some Christmas classic movies.
3. Go for a drive
Drive past your local town centre light display or just around your neighbourhood playing your favourite Christmas playlist – did you know the best way to spread Christmas cheer is to sing loud for all to hear?
4. Bake it or make it
Make your own Christmas decorations, cards, jam jar snow globes or try baking some delicious Christmas cookies, cakes, gingerbread or tiffin. To spread the Christmas cheer, you could join family or friends on Facetime and have a bake-off.
5. Have a Christmas party
Party with your household or with friends on Zoom; spend time with people who make you happy. Make some festive cocktails, have a quiz, karaoke or break out the board games for some good old-fashioned family fun. For a more chilled evening test run your cheeseboard and wine choices for Christmas day, light some candles or the fire (Netflix or YouTube have a faux ones with realistic sounds if you don't have one).
Have fun and stay safe!
