Steven specialises in renewable energy, natural resources & infrastructure projects.
He acts for clients in the marine sector, including port owners and operators, vessel designers and builders, and ferry operators, and has recently completed the $115m grain terminal transhipment project in South Australia for Sea Transport Corporation.
In marine energy, he has represented some of the leading companies developing these technologies, including Pelamis Wave Power and AWS Ocean Energy. He also has many years' experience developing hydro and large biomass projects, in Scotland and overseas, and is currently representing clients developing large biomass power plants in the western Balkans.
Steven represents a number of natural resource companies including Scotgold Resources, the AIM listed explorer, which is developing Scotland's first modern operational gold mine at Tyndrum in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
Steven's current energy & natural resources practice is developed in parallel with many years of experience in the UK PPP market, in which he was one of the first to become a specialist, and where he is still active for long term clients who include NHS boards. He is now using his experience in developing the right conditions for the project financed infrastructure that will be required to achieve ambitious global climate change targets.
