Scott advises clients in the private, public and third sector on a range of employment law issues, including matters arising throughout the whole employment relationship, from recruitment through to termination of employment.
Scott conducts regular advocacy in Employment Tribunals for both claimant and respondent, and has prepared an appeal to the Employment Appeal Tribunal. Recent appearance work includes the successful defence of an unfair and wrongful dismissal claim in an 8 day hearing.
Scott works closely with the firm's Corporate, Infrastructure & Projects and Real Estate teams in relation to the employment aspects of commercial transactions, advising particularly in relation to TUPE implications. Scott has been involved providing advice to employers in large scale transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and disposals, with hundreds of affected employees. In such transactions, Scott has provided strategic advice on high level exits and workforce restructure in addition to all aspects of the TUPE process.
Scott also has delivered seminars and training on employment related matters both in-house and externally to clients. Scott is also involved as a mentor with Entrepreneurial Spark.
Scott is a member of the team that won the prestigious "Employment Team of the Year" award at both the Scottish Legal Awards and the Law Awards of Scotland 2012.
