Lynsey Brown

Lynsey Brown

Lynsey provides advice on all aspects of family law, including separation, financial provision on divorce, dissolution of civil partnerships, child residence and contact issues, actions in relation to parental rights and responsibilities, cohabitation claims, cohabitation agreements and prenuptial agreements. She has a specific interest in adoption, and has experience in running step-parent adoption cases in particular.

Lynsey believes that, where possible, it can be beneficial, cost-effective and less stressful for individuals to reach agreement and resolve their disputes out with the courtroom arena in the first instance. She frequently negotiates financial settlements and child welfare arrangements for clients who are separating. Where cases cannot be resolved through negotiation, she litigates effectively on behalf of her clients. Through her involvement in assisting with high-value financial provision on divorce cases and complex child relocation cases, Lynsey has experience in handling Family actions both in the Sheriff Courts and in the Court of Session.

Lynsey has previously been a volunteer at local contact centres, and is a member of the Adoption and Fostering Alliance Scotland.
