Euan is head of the Infrastructure and Projects Practice team and focuses on complicated and high value construction and engineering contracts and revenue funded (PPP) projects.
Euan has had significant involvement advising in relation to the Scottish Government's Non Profit Distributing Model Projects and is one of Scotland’s leading lawyers in relation to projects procured under the hub initiative. Euan’s hub experience includes advising the project companies on both of the first two hub DBFM projects to reach financial close in Scotland, and on nine hub DBFM projects overall. Euan has also been lead legal adviser on more than ten completed hub DBDA (i.e. design and build) contracts. Through his extensive involvement in hub projects, Euan has played a significant role in establishing current market positions under the hub standard form project agreements. He also regularly advises both private and public sector clients in relation to a variety of operational issues in established PPP projects throughout the UK, which more often than not are of a highly contentious nature.
Euan has a particular interest in complex civil engineering projects and has advised and continues to advise major international contractors in relation to such projects throughout the UK. Euan has detailed knowledge and experience of negotiating contracts procured under major standard form engineering contracts, including nec 3 and FIDIC.
More recently Euan has also become involved in the emerging infrastructure and projects markets in the Baltic States and other countries in Eastern Europe.
