Elizabeth has wide experience of commercial property transactions, including sales, purchases and commercial leasing, having acted in the retail sector, office sector, pub/licensed trade sector, re-generation and further education sectors. She has particular experience in negotiating commercial leases for tenants.
Most recently, Elizabeth has gained experience in the renewable energy sector, having acted for several of the firm's renewable energy developer clients in securing options over land required for wind farm developments (including acting for a wind energy developer client in a large multi-site project under the Feed-in-Tariff regulations) and for landowners in the grant of leases to wind developers and also the grant of leases for hydro schemes. She also has experience of solar PV scheme lease structures and leases for biomass systems.
Whilst in the energy sector, Elizabeth also completed the financing of a large wind farm project (involving multiple landowners) where she acted for a major developer in completing the package of lease rights required to facilitate the wind farm, before taking the project through to financial close, which involved the grant of the necessary certificates of title and standard securities to funders.
Elizabeth is currently working for our housing association clients and other public sector organisations in relation to all property and funding related matters, including site acquisitions (often involving overage arrangements), sales, leasing, drafting of deeds of conditions for housing developments and on the funding side, acting for lenders to the social housing sector in charging exercises involving the review of certificates of title. She also has experience in reviewing and assessing the enforceability of title conditions and in issues involving common good land.
