Claire advises on a full range of family law issues including: separation, financial provision on divorce, dissolution of civil partnerships, child contact and residence disputes, international child abduction and relocation, cohabitation claims and pre-nuptial agreements.

Claire regularly represents clients in the Sheriff Court and has extensive experience running complex, high value family actions in the Court of Session including cases involving different jurisdictions. She has a particular interest resolving disputes concerning partnerships, companies and other business interests.

Out with the court arena, Claire frequently negotiates financial settlements on behalf of her separating clients and also advises on and negotiates the terms of pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements. Where possible, she seeks to resolve matters in a sensitive, cost effective and timely manner.

Claire is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law, a member of the Family Law Association and a Notary Public. She previously tutored Family Law at Undergraduate level at Edinburgh University.  Claire is described by The Legal 500 as a ‘professional’ associate who is ‘a tower of strength’.
