Alastair Johnston

Alastair is an Associate within our Dispute Resolution Team specialising in complex property litigation covering a broad spectrum of disputes but with a particular emphasis on commercial and residential landlord/tenant disputes and contentious construction matters. Alastair is a member of the Property Litigation Association in Scotland and the HM Construction Club.

Alastair also maintains a keen interest and busy practice in contentious executory disputes, professional negligence and sensitive commercial litigation.

With a strong record in successfully representing clients in the Sheriff Court, Sheriff Appeal Court, First Tier Tribunal for Scotland, Lands Tribunal for Scotland and the Scottish Land Court, Alastair also regularly advises clients and instructs counsel to represent clients in respect of cases within the Court of Session. Alastair is familiar with handling time-sensitive litigation and has successfully obtained protective interim orders on behalf of his clients in a number of high risk situations.

In particular, Alastair is known for delivering highly tailored and adaptive solutions to resolve his client's challenges with an approach that allows him to provide commercially focused advice whilst considering the specifics of each of our clients' cases.
