Law firm Harper Macleod has announced the promotion of 40 lawyers, including 11 legal directors and nine senior associates, in a wide range of practice areas across Scotland. The news follows another year of continued growth for the firm, with the overall headcount rising by 5% to 466.
The 11 new legal directors are:
- Andrea Ross – Residential Property, Housebuilder & Estate Agency (Inverness)
- Bobby Murray – Dispute Resolution (Edinburgh)
- Cinzia Duncan – Private Client, Asset Protection & Tax (Glasgow)
- Fiona Strang – Corporate, Commercial & Regulatory (Glasgow)
- Jenna McLean – Commercial Real Estate (Glasgow)
- Jennifer Grosvenor– Dispute Resolution (Glasgow)
- Kathryn Black – Commercial Real Estate (Glasgow)
- Lewis Kemp – Dispute Resolution (Edinburgh)
- Lindsay MacEwen – Private Client, Asset Protection & Tax (Inverness)
- Martin Bennett – Public Sector Real Estate, RSLs & Infrastructure (Edinburgh)
- Sascha Cochran – Risk & Compliance (Edinburgh)
The nine new senior associates are:

- Angus Brown – Dispute Resolution (Inverness)
- Anna Maitles – Business Development (Glasgow)
- Claire McGeough – Dispute Resolution (Glasgow)
- Claire Osborne – Dispute Resolution (Edinburgh)
- Deborah Rookes – Employment & Immigration (Glasgow)
- Hannah McIntosh – Rural Property, Forestry, Community Land & Crofting (Glasgow)
- Kirsty Watson – Banking & Finance (Glasgow)
- Rory Byrom – Employment & Immigration (Glasgow)
A further eight lawyers have been promoted to associate and 12 to senior solicitor. These promotions demonstrate Harper Macleod’s focus on building a strong pipeline of talent and providing clear paths for development and progression.
The firm continues to be a place for early career lawyers, with a record number of applications in this year’s traineeship recruitment process and 37 new trainees joining in the last two years. Harper Macleod is one of the largest recruiters of legal graduates in Scotland.
