The organisers revealed that they received entries from a record number of firms and companies this year, with competition fierce to even make the shortlists.

Earlier this year, Harper Macleod was also shortlisted for the National/Regional Firm of the Year at the Legal Business Awards – the other of the UK industry's main annual events.

Harper Macleod Chief Executive Martin Darroch said: "Recognition in these awards is an illustration of the profile we have as one of Scotland's elite firms. Over the years we have grown and grown by maintaining our focus on the Scottish market, while at the same time being a partner of choice for a large number of our peers in England, Wales, Ireland and further afield who require Scottish legal assistance of the highest quality. We are delighted to be on the shortlist and look forward to a fantastic night."
