Harper Macleod advised the majority shareholders of Brightwork in the sale of the entire issued share capital of Brightwork Limited to Staffline plc.
Brightwork is a business that specialises in temporary and permanent jobs in the drinks, warehousing, manufacturing and distribution sectors.
Harper Macleod had acted for Brightwork since it started over 10 years ago and over the years got to know the Brightwork team well as we assisted the company with all areas of its business. Headed up by Paula Skinner with Jo Nisbet and Gail Chalmers assisting the team were delighted to see Brightwork exit.
Brian Williamson, Executive Chairman, Brightwork
“Harper Macleod became our lawyers in 2006 and helped us form Brightwork. This was a complex transaction where a division of a large multi national recruitment company was purchased by the management team, key individuals and an outside Chairman.
“Fast forward almost 11 years and the same management team, key individuals and Chairman exited the business with the help of … exactly the same legal team of Paula, Jo and Gail who were there to complete the sale of a company to Staffline Plc. Another significant transaction which had the added complexity of the confidentiality requirements of an organisation with publicly traded shares.
“The journey of growing a business seven-fold meant the team at Harper Macleod were kept busy over the years with a whole host of activities supporting the company. However at every stage we always felt that our lawyers had one thing in mind … our wellbeing. This never changed.
“So Harper Macleod started the incoming Brightwork shareholders on the most exciting of journeys and took us all the way through to the most exciting of destinations. The words that come to mind are, Competence, diligence, pragmatism and great people to work with.”
