Stuart Hogg picks up the Harper Macleod Test Player of the Season trophy at Warriors Annual Awards

Harper Macleod was delighted to play its part in the celebration of another fantastic (and not quite finished) season for Glasgow Warriors this week.

The reigning GUINESS PRO12 champions held their annual Awards Dinner at the Radisson Blu hotel in Glasgow on Wednesday night, and as proud Sponsors of the club we were on hand with one of the big awards on the night.

Harper Macleod sponsored the Test Player of the Season Award - given to the player who impressed the most on international duty.

Unsurprisingly, Stuart Hogg – who was voted the RBS 6 Nations Player of the Championship – picked up the trophy from Harper Macleod Chief Executive Martin Darroch and Warriors’ Assistant Coach Matt Taylor.

Hogg tweeted his delight at collecting the prize: “Chuffed to pick up this award. Great to play alongside so many @GlasgowWarriors boys in a Scotland jersey.”

Martin Darroch said: “It was an honour to present Stuart with his trophy, which is yet more recognition of the impact he has made for both club and country this season. His performances, and the way he has lead by example, encapsulate everything that it great about the Warriors and it’s no surprise they are again in the mix for the title this season. As a business it’s great to play a small part in supporting the club and night’s such as these are fantastic – and we’re hoping for a few reasons to celebrate before the season ends!”

The Warriors, who face Connacht in the GUINESS PRO12 play-offs semi-final on 21 May, enjoyed a great regular season, overcoming a tough start to finish strongly and earn the chance to retain their title. The final of this year’s PRO12 takes place at Murrayfield on Saturday, 28 May.
