Harper Macleod is delighted to be working with sportscotland to support the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame event, which takes place on 4 November at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
The Scottish Sports Hall of Fame recognises our country’s rich heritage across all sports and this year’s induction ceremony will celebrate the inclusion of another five iconic sports people into the Hall of Fame.
Recognised as Scotland’s leading sports law practice, Harper Macleod, which was Legal Adviser to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, is proud to support this prestigious initiative.
Harper Macleod Chairman, Professor Lorne Crerar, said: “Sport is an important part of Scottish life and the Hall of Fame is a fantastic way in which we can both honour and preserve for posterity the success of many incredible sportsmen and women. One of the attractions of sport is its stories, and there are tremendous tales of drive, determination, talent and passion behind each of the inductees.
“Sport is inspirational and can be enjoyed by everyone at all levels – there are opportunities available for everyone to get involved regardless of their level. We are pleased that Harper Macleod can play its part in supporting the achievements of Scotland’s outstanding athletes which can in turn motivate and inspire future generations to take up their mantle. We look forward to the announcement of the latest heroes who will join the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame.”
Launched in 2002, the Hall of Fame was created to provide a public record of Scotland’s greatest sportsmen and women.
Louise Martin CBE, Chair of sportscotland and the selection panel said: “The Scottish Sports Hall of Fame is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Scotland’s rich sporting history and the achievements of those who have made it happen.
“Harper Macleod have long been supporters of sport in Scotland which makes it fitting that they will join us to deliver what promises to be a memorable occasion for all of the new inductees, their guests and the wider Scottish Sports Hall of Fame family.”
An independent selection panel, consisting of experts from across the sporting spectrum, considers all the public nominations which are received to decide which sporting heroes are inducted to the Hall of Fame.
