Harper Macleod Insolvency Team named as double finalists at prestigious UK awards

Harper Macleod's Insolvency and Restructuring lawyers have been recognised as being among the best in the UK by being shortlisted for two prizes at the prestigious Insolvency & Rescue Awards, the industry's landmark annual event.

The firm is up for Regional Insolvency Firm of the Year and Personal Insolvency Firm of the Year at the event, which takes place in London on October 1.

Now in their seventh year, the awards recognise best practice and commitment to rescue across the insolvency and corporate recovery arena.

Harper Macleod's Insolvency specialists - ranked as one of the leading practices in the UK by independent legal directories Chambers UK and Legal 500 - advise on both corporate insolvency and restructuring and personal insolvency for clients ranging from government and leading financial institutions to property groups, major corporations and individuals.

In the past year the team, led by Partners recognised as 'Leaders in the Field' by the leading UK legal directories, has advised on several major corporate restructurings, helping clients achieve their strategic goals and save a significant number of jobs in the process. The firm is also the sole legal adviser to Accountant in Bankruptcy, the Scottish Government official responsible for supervising the bankruptcy process.

Martin Darroch, Chief Executive of Harper Macleod, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for these awards, which place us in illustrious company among the leading advisers in the UK. Our team has gone from strength to strength in recent years and it's rewarding to see the work we are doing across the board, in both corporate personal insolvency, and the talent we have within the team recognised in this way."

Kamala Panday of Insolvency News, who organise the awards, said: "The 2014 shortlist highlights some great success stories and it is right to highlight the good and complex work this industry does in challenging commercial and individual circumstances to get fair outcomes for a range of stakeholders.
