Harper Macleod adds Real Estate Partner among trio of appointments

Harper Macleod, Legal Adviser to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, is delighted to announce a number of new appointments to its offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Chris Noble joins the firm's Real Estate & Construction team as a Partner with a particular focus on retail property clients. Chris joins from DWF Biggart Baillie, where he has gained significant experience in the retail sector, dealing with leasing for numerous retail occupiers and the acquisition, asset management and disposal of retail investment properties.

Chris has acted for some of the UK high street's best known retail brands in every major retail location in Scotland in respect of their property requirements, and has also acted for a number of shopping centre landlords.

He will work across the firm's Edinburgh and Glasgow offices, complementing the existing team's strength in relation to all aspects of real estate legal work including purchases and sales, the management of leasehold and investment properties and security matters.

Chris said: "I am delighted to be joining Harper Macleod at the start of a year in which the firm has so much going on. The firm's Real Estate & Construction team has a great reputation and has concluded a number of significant deals across Scotland and beyond recently. I'm looking forward to doing everything I can to help the team as it continues to grow and to working with our clients to make the most of the brighter economic landscape in 2014."

John Meehan, head of Real Estate, said: "Over the past 18 months we have continued to attract significant new clients and provide excellent service on account of the strength of our brand and the versatility of our lawyers. Chris will bring even more strength and depth to our offering and enable us to increase our presence in the retail space."

Meanwhile, the firm's Private Client and Residential Property team has added two new solicitors.

Susie Henderson trained at Wright Johnston and Mackenzie and recently completed her STEP Diploma is Trusts and Estates. Laura Burns trained at Bird Semple Solicitors and joins us from Morton Fraser.

Martin Darroch, Chief Executive, said: "We are delighted to welcome Chris, Susie and Laura to the firm in what will be an extremely exciting year for us. These appointments are further evidence of our commitment to growing our teams in areas where we see real potential, and I'm sure they will all play a significant part in our ongoing success."
