They took part in the Great Wilderness Challenge which saw them trek between Aultbea and Poolewe, a total of just over 13 miles.

Now in its 26th year the Great Wilderness Challenge has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity, with Children 1st, Highland Hospice and the ARCHIE Foundation Raigmore Appeal being the main beneficiaries from the 2012 event.

Harper Macleod has been a long standing supporter of the Great Wilderness Challenge, having taken part for over 12 years and raising over £250,000.

Speaking after the walk, Anne Macdonald said:

"It was great to be supporting Children 1st while getting a chance to take in some wonderful scenery and spending some time on my home stomping ground.

"Thirteen miles was quite a challenge but with the good weather, the 'big bad bog' section of the walk wasn't as swamp like as previous years.

"We really enjoyed the experience and are delighted to support the important work that Children 1st undertake."
