Leading law firm Harper Macleod LLP has announced the appointment of highly-respected Highland lawyer, David Eason, in addition to making seven internal promotions.
David, who specialises in company and commercial law, joins Harper Macleod from Munro & Noble and will be based in the firm's Inverness office. The firm has also made seven internal promotions to coincide with the start of its new financial year. These are: Victoria Buchanan (Insurance), Miriam Hall (Litigation), Daradjeet Jagpal (Public Sector), David Kerr (Litigation), Lee Cunningham (Real Estate), Scott Milligan (Employment) and Ruth Richardson (Insurance), who were all promoted from Solicitor to Associate. Tony Cameron, a Banking Law specialist also joined the firm as a Partner on the 15th March 2012.
The appointments conclude a strong year for Harper Macleod which, in a shrinking legal market, has grown its headcount 21% since the economic crisis began in 2008. In September 2011, the firm was also chosen for the key and prestigious appointment of legal adviser to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Professor Lorne Crerar, Chairman of Harper Macleod, said: "These new appointments and promotions are reflective of our ambitions to grow our business despite the difficult economic conditions. Each of the promotions reflects our acknowledgement of the commitment and hard work of our newly appointed Associates. David Eason's appointment as a Partner shows our desire to further extend our successful Highlands and Islands practice."
