Gender pay gap reporting to become law

Following debate in Westminster it would appear that gender pay gap reporting will become law for large companies, namely those with 250 employees or more. The Equal Pay Act of 1970 has been of considerable assistance to females in redressing imbalance in pay experienced in comparison to males. This proposed new step will see the Secretary of State have to make Regulations in the coming year that will oblige, as mandatory, pay gap reporting, to further strengthen the legal position.

The precise detail is unclear at this stage but all employers with 250 employees or more will need to start to consider how this could impact on their workplace, for good or for bad.
