Marie Curie - ConnectExtra
Marie Curie is delighted to continue their long term partnership with Harper Macleod and the HM Connect network in 2016/2017.
Marie Curie helps people living with any terminal illness and their families. It offers expert care, guidance and support to help them get the most from the time they have left.
Caring for someone who is dying can be very demanding both physically and emotionally and very often families are approaching breaking point when a Marie Curie nurse comes into their lives. It is their caring presence which often makes the difference between somebody being able to stay at home and being admitted to a hospital. The services that Marie Curie provides are only possible through the generosity from fundraisers. It costs MC £20 to provide an hour of nursing care and our services are always free of charge to patients and families.
In 2016/2017, Marie Curie is delighted to be partnering with HM Connect towards funding ‘Pay for a Day’. The Pay for A Day concept is simple – supporters choose a day of special meaning or significance, undertake fundraising activities and by doing so, fund a day of care in one of the Marie Curie Hospices. By focusing on fundraising towards such a specific target - £6,479 for the Glasgow Hospice – HM Connect can make a real difference to all those cared for in the Hospice in those 24 hours.
HM Connect has adopted October 25th 2016 as their very own Pay for A Day – thank you to all the network members for helping to achieve this fundraising target - you can donate here: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/HMConnectPayforaDay2016
Further information on both Pay for a Day and the Glasgow Hospice can be seen at:
The Marie Curie free Wills initiative has been created to raise funds for the charity but also to benefit HM Connect members
