SHREC 2018 - Book your Early Bird place
This year's Scottish Highland Renewable Energy Conference (SHREC), takes place on Thursday, 26 April at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness.
While the renewable industry has had to deal with a number of challenges in recent years, at SHREC we'll be focusing on the positives and identifying key opportunities that exist for the sector, particularly in the Highlands & Islands.
Themes - Championing the Highlands' Renewables Potential
As always we'll look at the issues that matter to people and organisations working in renewables in the Highlands and Islands.
Scotland's first ever Energy Strategy was published by the Scottish Government in December 2017 and we'll look at what this means for renewables development in the area. One of the six energy priorities set out in the Strategy is to: Champion Scotland’s renewable energy potential, creating new jobs and supply chain opportunities.
Bringing an integrated approach to heat, power and transport, a long-term plan for energy transition and a smarter model of local energy provision, it places renewables firmly at the forefront of Scottish energy strategy - and the Highlands and Islands are well positioned to be at the forefront of implementation.
All this will take place against the inexorable move towards a subsidy free renewables landscape and the importance of planning and repowering for new and existing projects.
Don't miss out
With the usual mix of fantastic speakers and fascinating workshop sessions, SHREC 2018 is not to be missed!
