We have a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge and has a genuine interest in legal technology as well as a broad understanding of IT.
You will become an integral part of Harper Macleod’s IT team who supports the firm across a multitude of business-critical systems, hardware and platforms.
Reporting to the IT Director you will be a senior member of the team with responsibility for the application and management of legal technologies in a variety of internal and client-facing contexts. You’ll be responsible for successfully delivering projects which span people, processes and technology in order to improve efficiency, productivity, client satisfaction and compliance across the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading process improvement and technology projects
- Creating and selecting innovative business solutions to drive efficiency
- Working with colleagues internally, and with our clients, to identify opportunities for new solutions
- Using Project Management, Change Management and Process Improvement disciplines to successfully deliver and embed change
- Engaging with internal infrastructure development and training teams, and with external suppliers to support the analysis, evaluation, testing and delivery of solutions
- Documenting requirements and, where required, engaging with Harper Macleod’s developers and training team to deliver solutions to the business
- Implementing, promoting and managing systems and tools, delivering training and demonstrations
- Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the legal technology market and available technologies, demonstrating insight and leadership
Skills & experience required:
- Experience of leading process improvement at a team, departmental or firm level
- Experience of legal technology applications such as accounting, billing, time recording and practice management systems
- Understanding of information security principles for ISO27001
- Excellent communicator, able to listen, empathise and understand a wide range of stakeholders needs
- Confident presenter, able to break down complex concepts in a non-technical manner
- Problem solver, able to use your knowledge and experience to improve efficiency
- Self-starter, with the ability to actively seek new technology solutions, research them and build a business case for their adoption if appropriate
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues across all practice areas, our business services teams and our clients
