Harper Macleod Supports Scotland's Entrepreneurial Student Talent
Harper Macleod LLP, one of Scotland's leading commercial law firms, is delighted to support the Scottish Institute for Enterprise (SIE) through the provision of in-kind advice to winners of the 2009 SIE New Ventures Competition.
The firm will provide commercial legal advice to the winning student start up companies tailored to their particular needs, providing elements of services available under their Essential Small Business, BrandBuilderTM and Website Compliance packages, which help new businesses address formation, trading and brand protection matters in a cost effective manner.
The awards took place on Wednesday 1st April 2009 at a Gala Dinner in Glasgow and the winners include Edward Bolam of Edinburgh University who developed RevDrive, a gearbox for the cycling industry; hoodeasy, also of Edinburgh University which sells customized student clothing; and Giglets, a team from Strathclyde University who have developed a series of children's books aimed at educating on Scottish history whilst tackling issues such as childhood obesity through the character of "Tam O'Haggis".
