Harper Macleod's Douglas Cowan Confirmed As Accredited Specialist In Personal Injury Law

Harper Macleod LLP is delighted to announce that Partner, Douglas Cowan, has been accredited as a specialist in Personal Injury Law by the Law Society of Scotland.

Douglas is one of just 62 Accredited Specialists in the field of Personal Injury Law in Scotland, from over 10,000 solicitors in Scotland.

Douglas joined Harper Macleod in 2000 as an assistant in the Litigation Department, was promoted to Associate in 2001 and assumed as a Partner in April 2004.  He is experienced in all aspects of civil litigation but specialises in pursuing and defending Personal Injury cases.  He also advises clients on contractual disputes, professional negligence claims and property disputes.  In addition, he advises insurers on high value subsidence and flood claims.

Harper Macleod Chairman Professor Lorne Crerar commented, "Specialist accreditation helps assure clients they are accessing professional expertise of the highest calibre and Douglas's recognition is well deserved."

The Society's Accreditation Scheme was established in 1990.  Accreditation is through a process of assessment and adjudication by an Accreditation Panel, comprising solicitor members experienced in this area of the law, drawn from government, public sector and other relevant organisations.  There are 24 areas in which accreditation as a specialist is available to the profession.
