10th Annual Housing Conference Debates Affordability Question

Meeting the challenges associated with the Scottish Government's recently published affordable housing policy consultation was the topical subject under debate by experts at the 10th National Housing Conference, held in Dunblane recently. 

Hosted by leading Scottish commercial law firm, Harper Macleod LLP, over 90 attendees heard from expert speakers including William Fleming, Head of the Scottish Government's Social Housing Objectives and Regulation Team, Jacqui Watt, Chief Executive of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, Kennedy Foster, Council of Mortgage Lenders and Taroub Zahran, Chief Executive, The Glasgow Housing Association Limited.   

Legal authorities from Harper Macleod, including Senior Partner Len Freedman from the Social Housing & Community Development Practice Group, invited the audience to consider topics ranging from Developments in Charity Law to the Role of the Planning Regime.  Closing speaker, Harper Macleod Chairman and Chair of the Independent Review of Regulation, Audit, Inspection and Complaints Handling of Public Services in Scotland, Professor Lorne Crerar focused his remarks on regulation and scrutiny in the public sector and its implications for housing providers.
