Harper Macleod Boosts Charity Funds By Over £42,000

Following three separate fundraising events last weekend, the combined efforts of staff from leading Scottish commercial law firm Harper Macleod LLP have helped boost charity funds by over £42,000.

The fourth Great Wilderness Challenge (GWC) Ball on September 13 at the Radisson Hotel in Glasgow raised an amazing £40,000 for leading charities that included CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland), CHILDREN 1ST, Highland Hospice, the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice and the Princess Royal Trust for Carers. Harper Macleod is one of the principal organisers of the Highland themed event. The ball followed the 23rd GWC Walk that took place in the Highlands on August 23rd.

On the same day, a group of 12 Harper Macleod partners and employees completed the grueling 120k duathlon, First Monster, that took place in Inverness. Almost 200 teams took part in a relay event involving a 10k run and 20k cycle. The 3 Harper Macleod teams successfully completed the course and raised over £1,000 for Save The Children.

Finally, Kris Totten, the firm's IT Helpdesk Administrator, also took to his bike on Sunday in the annual Pedal for Scotland event. Kris cycled from Glasgow to Edinburgh to raise almost £1,000 for MS Scotland.

Harper Macleod Chief Executive, Martin Darroch who is responsible for the firm's Corporate Social Responsibility programme, commented, "As a responsible corporate citizen, we actively encourage and support our people undertaking charity fundraising activities.
