Harper Macleod One of Big Three To Form The Professional Pensions Alliance

Harper Macleod LLP, one of Scotlands leading commercial law firms, has teamed up with Scottish Widows plc and Moores Williams Trustees to form The Professional Pensions Alliance (PPA).

Providing a comprehensive portfolio of pension services for final salary schemes, The PPA has been formed in response to the far-reaching changes in pensions and tax legislation contained in the Finance Acts 2004 and 2005 and The Pensions Act 2004.

The first service of its kind tailored to final salary schemes, The Professional Pensions Alliance will offer a menu of options with a competitive, transparent fee structure.  Scheme advisors will be able to benefit from a comprehensive range of pensions expertise, from actuarial services, independent professional trusteeship and pension administration services to scheme accounts and payroll, incentive packaging and pensions & employment law.

Actuarial and pensions administration services will be provided by Scottish Widows plc, with Moores Williams Trustees Ltd handling all independent trustee work.  Harper Macleod will provide all pension and employment legal services, utilising a wide range of expertise from four accredited specialists in the employment field.

Scott Moncur, Pensions & Incentives Partner at Harper Macleod said; "The firm has a wealth of experience advising on all aspects of pensions, corporate activity, employee participation and incentive plans and were delighted to be bringing this to bear within The Professional Pensions Alliance. Harper Macleod has always prided itself on being an innovative firm with a progressive approach to delivering solutions and the formation of The Professional Pensions Alliance is the latest example of this."
