Former DLA Partner Strengthens Harper Macleod Property Team

Harper Macleod LLP, one of Scotlands leading commercial law firms, is pleased to announce the appointment of Fraser Hardie as Commercial Property Partner in the firms Edinburgh office.

Former Real Estate Partner with DLA Piper (Scotland), Fraser is based in Harper Macleods Edinburgh office, specialising in real estate funding, joint ventures and property investment.

Professor Crerar, Managing Partner, said "We are delighted to be welcoming Fraser on board and we are confident that his considerable Real Estate expertise will further strengthen our fast growing Commercial Property team.  Whilst it is rare for the firm to grow its practice areas by way of senior hiring, we recognised that in Frasers case, he would complement and enhance our existing Commercial Property offering perfectly.  The firm is experiencing almost 30% turnover growth in this financial year and Fraser will help us to provide excellence of service to our clients."

Harper Macleods Commercial Property practice is booming, with the appointment of Fraser Hardie following the recent promotion of solicitor Paul Greenhill to Associate within the team.   The group has also appointed three new assistant solicitors - Martin Barr, Ameeta Panesar and Helen Pemberton - working in the Commercial Property team in Glasgow.  Harper Macleod is one of only two firms to represent the Office of the Solicitor to the Scottish Executive in relation to all property related matters and now has a presence in the Highlands with the opening of the firms Inverness office in September 2004, creating a Scotland-wide property team with bases in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness.

Established in 1988 by Professor Lorne Crerar and Rod McKenzie, Harper Macleod has evolved into a firm with 31 Partners, 2 Consultants, 92 Fee Earners and a complement of 172 staff.  Renowned for its expertise in Sports, Public Sector & Housing, Employment, Banking, Recoveries and Litigation, the firm includes the Scottish Premier League, The Scottish Executive, Optical Express, THUS plc, Tulloch Limited, The Child Support Agency and BCW Group plc in its impressive list of clients.
