Synopsis

This seminar focuses on the requirements placed upon Public Sector organisations by the Equality Act 2006 and considers ways in which Public Sector organisations can meet these requirements to avoid the enforcement provisions of the Act.

The topics that will be covered in this seminar include:

  • Unification of existing equality commissions
  • Purpose of CEHR
  • Obligations placed upon Public Sector Organisations
  • General Gender, Race and Disability Equality Duties
  • Specific Gender, Race and Disability Equality Duties

  • Example of compliance by public sector organisations
  • Enforcement and penalties

The seminar also includes a Workshop session on the Equality Act 2006, where delegates can take part and discuss issues arising from the workshop scenario.
